What we often refer to as oil-insulated transformers can also be called liquid-insulated transformers or liquid-filled transformers.

Our liquid-insulated transformers are supplied in sizes from 50 kVA upwards. These transformers are available in two standard series; Miljö Eko2® and Miljö Max®, which are all adapted to the Ecodesign Directive (EU No 548/2014). In addition to conventional hermetically sealed transformers, we can also offer oil-insulated transformers in the following designs:

• For frequency converters, welding purposes & furnace operation
• For EX environments
• With environmentally friendly insulation fluid instead of oil - e.g. Midel® and FR3
• Earthing transformers / Zero point transformers
• 3-winding transformers
• With enclosed sockets including rail system for easier cable connection
• Transformers with increased surface protection, such as C4 & C5-M
• Transformers with expansion vessels

As an alternative to traditional mineral oil, we can offer an environmentally friendly insulation fluid based on vegetable oil, also called ester oil (type Midel® or FR3®). In the event of a spill, ester oil poses less risk to the local environment than mineral oil.

>Ester oil is well suited if your liquid-insulated transformer is to be installed in a fire-sensitive environment, as it is a less flammable liquid (K2-class) with a higher flash point than mineral oil > 330 °C. In addition to its fire safety, ester oil offers several other advantages. Thanks to its higher moisture tolerance, it helps minimize moisture in the insulation, which in turn contributes to maintaining the transformer’s electrical reliability.
