Oil and liquid-insulated distribution transformers

There are many names for transformers, and they can be referred to in different ways. The ones we often call oil-insulated transformers can sometimes also be referred to as liquid-insulated transformers.
Our distribution transformers are supplied in sizes from 50 kVA up to 6300 kVA/36 kV. For higher powers, see Power transformers. These transformers are available in three standard series; Miljö Eko2®, Miljö Plus® and Miljö Max®, all of which are adapted to the Ecodesign Directive (EU No 548/2014). In addition to conventional hermetic distribution transformers, we can also offer oil-insulated transformers in the following designs:
- For frequency converters, welding purposes & furnace operation
- For EX environments
- With environmentally friendly insulation fluid instead of oil - e.g. Midel® and FR3
- Earthing transformers / Zero point transformers
- 3-winding transformers
- With enclosed sockets including rail system for easier cable connection
- Transformers with increased surface protection, such as C4 & C5
- Transformers with expansion vessels
Our oil-insulated transformers come primarily from EBG. But since different manufacturers are good at different things, we always use the manufacturer that we believe makes the best transformers for the particular application in question.
This is how an oil & liquid-insulated transformer is constructed
