A groundbreaking charging station has been ordered for the Gullmarsleden trail in Bohuslän!
Our customer Metstech has been commissioned to build and install a fully automatic charging station for the road ferries on the Gullmarsleden in Bohuslän. The ferry that operates between Skår and Finnsbo outside Lysekil will be able to moor and connect without manual work, which streamlines the process for the ferry crew.
The new charging station can supply up to 3 MW, which is equivalent to the capacity of 12 fast chargers for cars. Thanks to this, the ferry can be charged in 10-15 minutes and then make a round trip between Skår and Finnsbo. An important prerequisite for making it work even during the summer peak, when the ferry is at its busiest.
Our solution:
METS has several subcontractors on the project, including us at Unitrafo. Our environmentally friendly MiljöPlus® transformer ensures a safe and reliable connection to the electricity grid.
MiljöPlus® is characterized by:
- Low idle and load losses
- Designed for medium to high loads
- Exceeds the requirements set out in the Ecodesign Directive, level 2 (2021)
We are continuously working to develop solutions that not only meet, but exceed current legal requirements. Our MiljöPlus® transformer is a clear example of this.
With our expertise, we also help our customers to find the most optimal solution for each project. In the specification for this project, a 3500 kVA transformer was specified, but with the help of calculations on load curves, we found that a 2500kVA corresponded to the need. The result was a more compact solution and lower costs.
